DAVIS IS the director OF research for THE GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY, CREATE TEACHER RESIDENCY RESEARCH program. THIS TEAM WAS AWARDED 8 MILLION DOLLARS IN FUNDING FROM THE SUPPORTING EFFECTIVE EDUCATORS DEVELOPMENT (SEED) GRANT BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION IN 2017 and WAS AWARDED ANOTHER 14 MILLION IN SEVERAL SEED AWARDS IN 2020.

DR. Davis instructs from a liberationist framework. She partners with students to create the conditions to facilitate their discovery of innovatIVE approaches to achieve self-liberation and advance educational equity for diverse P-12 learners. She employs a transformative pedagogy characterized by immersive, collaborative classroom experiences that engage and challenge students.
